Local collection trips are organized for M. Sc. students
twice in a year besides an annual study tour of 15 days
duration is organized for the students of the third semester
for sea shore animal collections as well as to acquaint them
with various zoological parks, museum, wildlife sanctuaries,
national parks, scientific institutes and universities in
various parts of the country. The students of the department
regularly participate in the extra-curricular activities
organized by the University like Display your Talent Contest
and Inter Departmental Sports Activities

The Department has hosted number of
Seminars/Conferences/Workshops and Refresher Courses etc.
Special lectures and quiz programmes are organized from time
to time. Periodic seminar talks are delivered by research
scholars and faculty members of the department in their area
of research. The teachers and the research scholars of the
department and present research papers in various
conferences and seminars held in various parts of the
country. The faculty members also attend various refresher
courses and training programmes organized by different
Institutes/Universities in India and Abroad for updating
their academic pursuits.
