Each year, thirty-four students including open and
category Intake Capacity are admitted in first semester. In
addition five to ten students are admitted in payment
category. In each semester, we have about forty
students in Masters Degree Programme (MDP). For all
the students admitted in Masters Degree Programme,
Course No. C-400 to C-402, C-403 (for students from
Medical stream)/C-404 (for students from Non-medical
stream), C-405 to C-406 are compulsory for all first
semester students; Course No. C-450 to C-454 are
compulsory for all second semester students; Course
No. C-500 to C-507 are compulsory for all third
semester students. For the fourth semester students,
there are three specializations - Physical Chemistry,
Inorganic Chemistry and Organic Chemistry. In each
specialization, we have almost equal number of
students. Each student has to take four theory Courses
from Course No.: C-550 to C-566 and one laboratory
Course from C-567 to C-569.
Each year, there is a regular batch of M.Phil
students. This year, sixteen students have been
admitted in this course. At present, number of Ph.D.
students including part time research scholars is
fifteen.
