Other Achievements :-

1. The department and Dhanvantri Library, University of Jammu has organized Workshop on Internet Applications to Libraries in collaboration with SIS, New Delhi (8th - 10th Dec. 2005).

2. The department has organized Advanced Training Programme on WINISIS sponsored by the Dept. of Libraries and Research, Govt. of J&K and Dept. of Library Science, University of Jammu for public librarians at University of Jammu, Jammu, 2004

3. Department of Library Science in collaboration with the Directorate of Public Libraries and Research, conducted two weeks training programme in WINISIS Software Package for the benefit of Public Libraries Staff of the Jammu Region (13-26th Dec 2003).

4. Organized Refresher Course on WINISIS for working Librarians in collaboration with Directorate of Public Libraries, Govt. of J&K (Dec. 2002).

5. The Department has organized a three-day training course on CDS/ISIS package for working librarians in collaboration with the Satinder Kour Ramdev Memorial Trust for the Advancement of Librarianship (SATKAL) (Nov. 26-28, 2001).

6. Organized a half-day seminar on electronic journals and J-Gate on Internet on in collaboration with Informatics India Limited, Bangalore (September 11, 2000).

7. Organized a three weeks UGC sponsored refresher course in management of academic libraries in collaboration with the academic staff college, University of Kashmir, Srinagar (Nov. 29-Dec., 1999).

8. Invited guest lectures from different subject specialists on regular basis.


International Fellowships :

• Dr. IV Malhan was awarded the Fulbright Fellowship to visit the USA in 1996 to study the impact of information technology and information science education.
• Ms. Anjali Gulati, is selected as IFLA/OCLC Early Career Development Fellow.
