Welcome cum Farewell Function
The students of M.A. 3rd semester, Department of
Education organized INTRO CUM FAREWELL PARTY in favour of
new and outgoing students of M.A. education and M.Ed.
course. Prof. Renu Nanda, Head of the department presided
over the function Prof. Mubarak Singh, Prof. Rajeev Rattan
Sharma, Dr. Sushanta Panda, Dr. Kajal Manhas and Ms.
Minakshi Choudhary and non teaching staff of the Department
attended this colorful programme. The HOD lauded the efforts
of the students and staff of the department. She asserted
that such programmes exhibit creative talents of students
and wished outgoing alumni happy, healthy, productive and
spiritually satisfying successful life.
Conduct of Picnic
The department takes quality initiatives to groom the
students of the department in research and teaching field,
it also makes an endeavour to develop aesthetic values among
the students. For this, the faculty members and students of
M.A. 2nd, 4th semester and M.Ed. 2nd semester led by the
Prof. Renu Nanda, Head of the department went on a picnic to
Patnitop, 70 kms from Jammu known for its scenic beauty and
temples. This visit helped to create awareness among the
students about the environment, the importance of nature in
their lives and the need to preserve and conserve it for
their own survival and that of the next generation. The
teaching and the non teaching members also enjoyed the
picnic.
Educational Tour
The department organizes educational tours annually and
students of the department have been provided the
opportunity to visit the renowned educational institutions
of India to get exposure to their working culture. Recently
the students of the Department with the senior faculty of
the Department visited the Centre of Advanced Studies,
Himachal Pradesh University and Chandigarh University from
14th November 2016 to 17th November 2016.
Workshops and Seminars including academic events
- Organised ‘’National Workshop on Research Methodology’
under SAP (DRS-II) from 1.1.2018 to 7.1.2018.
- Invited Prof. Marie Andrew, Montreal University,
Canada as visiting Fellow from 8.1.2018 to 13.1.2018
- Organised Refresher Course in Teacher Education in
Collaboration with UGC -HRDC, University of Jammu from

- Published a book on ‘Curriculum Development in Teacher
Education- Innovative Practices’ and Edited by Dr. Renu
Nanda and Dr Mubarak Singh under UGC-SAP (DRS-II) which
was released 12.12. 2017.
- Organised International Conference on ‘Critically,
Empathy and Welfare in Contemporary Educational
Discourses’ in collaboration with CESI on Nov. 16-18, 2017
- Department Students and faculty members are
participated in observing Sardal Vallvabai Patel Birth
Anniversary organised by NSS wing, University of Jammu on
31.10.017
- Organised Fresher’s cum Farewell Party by MA and M.Ed
IIIrd semester Students on 27.10.2017.
- Ms. Manpreetr Kaur, M.A III semester student got
second prize in ‘Display your Talent’ organised by DSW on
04.10.2017.
- ‘Tree Plantation Drive’ was organised in University
campus by M.Ed IIIrd Semester students on 28.9.2017.
- Department Students were participated in ‘Swachata
Pakhwada’ and ‘Tree Plantation Drive’ organised by DSW on
8.9.2017.
