Post Graduate Department of Law

1. Faculty members have contributed a lot in the enrichment of Legal material at national & International level.

2. Faculty has produced excellent Administrative officers, Law-Officers, judges, Advocates, Police-Officers and Law Teachers.

3. The Department of Law has been identified as a Potential Department by UGC.

4. The thrust is on empirical study of law as well as on Moot-Courts which has proved effective in imparting of practical Legal Knowledge.

Prof. K. L. Bhatia

i) UNO Human Rights Fellowship, July to August, 1982.
ii) DAAD Fellowship under Indo-German Cultural Exchange Programme October to December, 1994.
iii) Max-Plank Fellowship, 1995-1996.
iv) Max-Plank Fellowship, 1999-2000.

Prof. B. P. Singh Sehgal

1. Awarded Fellowship for attending the 19th Study Session on Human Rights by International Institute of Human Rights, Strasbourg (France) in June-July, 1988.
2. Awarded Fellowship for two weeks internship in International Committee for Red Cross at Geneva (Switzerland), August, 1988.
3. Participated in IUCN/APCL/UNEP course on capacity building for Environmental Legal Education in the Asia-Pacific Region at National University of Singapore, from 8th June to 3rd July, 1998.
4. Worked as Legal Affairs Officer with Civil Registry at United Nations Transitional Administration in East Timor (UNTAET) from March 2001 to November 2001. Main functions include Formatting and interpreting Rules and Regulations concerning Civil Registry.


Prof. Nisar Ahmed Ganai

Awarded Fellowship for attending the 18th Study Session on Human Rights by International Institute of Human Rights, Strasbourg (France) from July 1987 to 2nd August, 1987.
Awarded Fellowship by Council of Europe Strasbourg (France) from 3rd August, 1987 to 16th August, 1987.

Prof. Lalita Parihar

1. Awarded Commonwealth Post-Doctoral Fellowship awarded by the British Council 1997-98 in the University of London, Faculty of Law.
2. Awarded Fellowship for attending the 30th Study Session on Human Rights Strasbourg (France) in July, 1999.
3. . Selected for International University Human Rights Teaching during 5th to 30th July, 1999.
iv) Awarded Fellowship at International Commission of Human Rights for Refugees, Geneva and International Labour Organization, Geneva from 2 to 14 August, 1999.

1. Fellowship awarded by International Institute of Human Rights, Strasbourg (France) for one month in July, 1989.
