Prof. A.S. Jasrotia has established department of Remote Sensing & GIS, University of Jammu in the year 2008 with all the requisite facilities required for Geospatial Techniques. He has carried out the research in field of Remote Sensing and GIS application in Water Resources, Climate Change & Hydrology, Land use Change Scenario, Cryosphere, Desertification Vulnerability, Urban & Rural Planning. More than 30 years of research experiences, he has published more than 40 research articles in national/international journals. He has reviewed many top edited journals in the Elsevier and Springer publications. He has carried out various research projects in funded & collaboration with Space Application Centre (ISRO) Ahmedabad, Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), Dehradun, National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC) Hyderabad, ISRO, Dept. of Space, Govt. of India, NRDMS (DST) Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, New Delhi and Department of Land Resources, Govt. of Indian/Rural Development Department, Civil Secretariat, Jammu.
