Dr. Harish Chander Dutt an ecologist and ethnobotanist is working as Assistant Professor at Department of Botany, University of Jammu, India who has a wide experience of field botany in erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir. He has travelled and explored all the three divisions of north west Himalaya i.e. (a) Shivaliks (b) Lesser Himalaya and (c) Greater Himalaya in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. Doctorate from University of Jammu in 2006, he has also worked in CSIR- Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine as Research Associate for about 3 years. Starting his research career with ecology and ethnobotany, he has given some important plant discoveries to the region like Aconitum hookeri, Aegineta indica, Cymbidium macrorhizon, Pedicularis cheilanthifolia var. albida and also some new to science like Neoconopodium paddarensis, Bistorta ruderense has added more dimension to his capabilities.
