Dr. Malay Dey, presently working as an Assistant Professor in the Centre for Studies in Museology, University of Jammu, India, has done an M.Sc. and Ph.D. from the Department of Museology, University of Calcutta. He got a university research fellowship from Calcutta University. He has completed an online non-credit course on “Arts and Heritage Management” from the University of Bocconi, Italy, and a certificate course on “Architectural Conservation and Historic Preservation” from NPTEL. He has post-graduate level teaching experience for about 15 years. He has been serving as Convenor and member of Various panels of the Bureau of Indian Standards, Govt. of India, as an Indian expert for the adaptation of International Standards (ISO). He was also a member of the Syllabus Committee in M. A. Integrated History (with specialisation on Cultural Heritage), Cluster University, Jammu, India. Now he is also attached to the School of Vedic Studies, Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata, for serving the academic purpose. He was a guest faculty member at the University of Calcutta and Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata. He worked as a research assistant for DRS/SAP under UGC in the Dept. of Museology, University of Calcutta, India. He was a member of IIT Jammu research project titled "Integrating Teaching-Learning and Digital Education: A study of Selected Higher Education Institutions in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh." He completed the Practical Training in Museum Method by the Indian Museum. He participated in, organized and presented papers at 20 national and 08 international seminars. He took a training course under the aegis of the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training, Ministry of Tourism and Culture, Govt. of India. As an invited speaker, he has given lectures in seminars, workshops, Faculty Development Programmes and Refresher Courses of UGC-HRDC at many universities. He published some academic books on social and environmental science and many articles in renowned journals. Dr. Dey has been selected for writing Textbook in Indian languages under Bharatiya Bhasa Pustak Scheme , an initiative launched by Ministry of Education, Govt. of India and University Grant Commission.
