Economics

Academic Qualifications and Experience

Holds an M.A. in Economics (1999) and qualified the UGC–NET in Economics for Lectureship (2000). Awarded a Ph.D. in Economics in 2012. Possesses twenty-four years of teaching and research experience in the areas of Advanced Macroeconomics, Financial Institutions and Markets, and Labour Economics. Research specialization lies in the Rural and Marginalized Economy.

Research and Publications

Has published 44 research papers in reputed national and international journals and has presented 62 papers in various international and national conferences and seminars. Delivered 41 invited lectures at reputed academic institutions across the country.

Research Projects

Successfully completed two Major ICSSR-funded research projects, titled:

1. “Educational Status of Scheduled Castes in Jammu and Kashmir: Attainment and Challenges”

2. “An Institutional-Economic Analysis of Water Governance, Conflict and Cooperation in the Indus Sub-Basin of Jammu and Kashmir”

3. Currently working on a Major ICSSR-funded research project titled: “Transforming Jammu and Kashmir Post 5th August 2019: A Social, Economic and Political Analysis.”
4. Additionally, successfully completed one Minor ICSSR-funded research project titled: “Geo-Strategic Importance of the North-Western Borders of India.”
