Dr. Samridhi Arora has been engaged in teaching and research in the field of Human Development for the last two decades with an experience of 25 years. Together with undertaking research projects, she teaches courses in Human Development, Early Childhood Care and Education, Child Rights, Guidance and Counseling, Laws, policies, and programs for children. The prominent thrust areas in her research include Early Childhood Care and Education, Child rights, Health and well-being of women and adolescents, senescence, and tribal studies. She has extensively worked with the tribal population of Jammu i.e. Gujjars since 1995 focussing on the various socio-cultural, health, maternal and child care, and educational aspects. She is part of various national and regional organizations. She is a member of the CHILDLINE Advisory Board, JK UT. She has been nominated as Chairperson, UT level Steering Committee for developing State Curriculum Framework (SCF) in ECCE and School Education. She was also Chairperson for developing a position paper under the State Curriculum Framework (SCF) for Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) by NCERT in 2022. At the University level, she was Co-chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee, at the University of Jammu in the session 2020-2021, a Member of the SWAYAM/MOOC Committee, JU, Mentor SWAYAM/MOOC, JU (2017-2022), a member of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, JU. She has completed two UGC Major and Minor research projects, guided 09 Doctoral thesis, and more than 80 Master’s dissertations to date.
