Prof Vibhakar Mansotra, Professor and Head

Computer Science and IT

I am  a distinguished academic and researcher with over three decades of experience in the field of Computer Science and Information Technology. I have held a professorial position at the University of Jammu since October 1992. My educational journey includes a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Jammu, an M.Tech. in Computer Application from IIT Delhi, and a distinguished academic record in Physics, both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

My  research interests are vast, encompassing data mining, learning analytics, and artificial intelligence, and I have contributed significantly to these fields with over 115 publications in prestigious journals and conferences.

I have served as the Head of the Department of Computer Science and IT[from Apr 2012-Apr 2015), Chairman of the Board of Studies, Dean of the Faculty of Mathematical Sciences, and a member of various academic and executive councils at the University of Jammu. Additionally, I have been a vital part of several university committees, , including UGC expert committees, NBA accreditation panels, and Ph.D. thesis evaluations, including those focused on ERP, computer networking, and CCTV surveillance systems. My scholarly contributions include authoring three books and serving as a member of the International Advisory Board.
