Dr. Falendra Kumar is a Professor at the Department of Economics, University of Jammu, Jammu and Kashmir, India specializing in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics, Development Economics and Demography. He was a Visiting Fellow at the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Manila and Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Institute, China twice from July 2021 to December 2021 and from July 2023 to December 2023 under the ADB-CAREC Institute Visiting Fellow Program (2021) and an Adjunct Research Fellow to University of South Australia, Adelaide from June 2011 to June 2014. He served as a Member, of the State Level Environmental Impact Assessment Authority under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change from March 2016 to February 2024 He has completed various inter-disciplinary research projects and published widely in multi-disciplinary perspectives. He has served as Session Leader at the UNESCO Chair in Technologies for Development: Voices of the Global South at EPFL, Switzerland. Recently, he has published with the United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD), Switzerland; Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), Japan; World Scientific, Singapore, Springer, United Kingdom etc and served as a Resource Person to Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Institute (CAREC), China; Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), Japan; and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KAZNU), Kazakhstan.
