Botany

I have done my Ph.D. in the field of Cytogenetics from University of Jammu. Now, I am working as Associate Professor in the Department of Botany, University of Jammu. I have a teaching and research experience of 10 years at PG level. I have been actively engaged in teaching of Cytogenetics and Genetic Engineering of Plants and Plant Tissue Culture. I have 30 publications in National and International Journals and seven book chapters. My group is using cytological, biochemical and molecular tools for diversity analysis in different wild edibles and threatened species. My current research interests are Assessment of morphological, cytological, biochemical and molecular variability in Carissa spinarum L., Allium stracheyi Baker and  Pyrus pashia Baker from Jammu. Till date, I have completed 2 DST-funded and one CSIR funded project. I have received several National Awards during presentations made in different forums.
