Dr V K Shivgotra did his Master of Statistics (1999) and Ph D degree (2004) from Department of Statistics University of Jammu, Jammu. With 20 years of vast experience in teaching and research , he has served as \Research officer from 2004-0211 in National Institute of Occupational Health (ICMR) and Assistant Professsor National Institute iof Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW) New Delhi.
Presently he serving as an Assistant Professor (Level 12) the Department of Statistics at the University of Jammu, Jammu and Kashmir, India and supervised Nine Ph D & M Phil scholars to successful completion of their research work , published about 35 research papers in referred and peer-reviewed journals of repute, and presented in international/national conferences.
Dr. V.K. Shivgotra serves as an Assistant Professor in. With a PhD in Statistics and extensive expertise in statistical modeling, Dr. Shivgotra has made significant contributions to academia and research. Over the past five years, he has supervised five MPhil and four PhD

Dr. Shivgotra's research portfolio features a diverse range of peer-reviewed publications, including studies on cardiovascular health, diabetes prevalence, infant mortality, and ethnobotany in the Himalayan region. His works are recognized for their innovative use of statistical techniques, such as meta-analysis and multinomial regression modeling, to address pressing societal and health-related challenges.
