Dr. Suneel Kumar teaches International Relations, International Law, National Security of India, Research Methodlogy and Research and Publications Ethics in the MA and Ph.D programmes offered by the Department of Strategic and Regional Studies. Prior to joining the University of Jammu, Dr. Suneel Kumar has also served as Assistant Professor in the Post-Graduate Department of Political Science, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar; School of Social Sciences, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, and Centre For South-Central Asian Studies, School of Global Relations, Central University of Punjab, Bathinda. He was a UGC Post-Doctoral Fellowship Recipient in 2009. He has supervised 16 M.Phil dissertations, five Ph.D theses and, also, completed one UGC Major Research Project (as Co-Investigator). Apart from this, Dr. Kumar has published numerous research papers in various internationally reputed peer-reviewed foreign and Indian journals indexed in Web of Science and Scopus having high impact factor (Thomas Reuters/Clarivate). These journals include International Migration (International Organization For Migration: Geneva; Georgetown University and; Centre For Migration Studies: New York by Blackwell-John Wiley and Sons), Millennial Asia (Sage Publications), Australian Journal of Maritime and Ocean Affairs (Earlier known as 'Maritime Studies') (Routledge Publications), South Asian Survey (Sage Publications), Insights on Africa (Sage Publications), India Quarterly (Sage Publications), Pakistan Horizon (Pakistan Institute of International Affairs: Karachi), Czech Journal of International Relations (Institute of International Relations: Prague), Journal of Punjab Studies (University of California, USA) and Jadavpur Journal of International Relations (Sage Publications). Dr. Kumar has also served as consulting editor and also reviewer for the various internationally reputed journals.
