Pawanesh Abrol, Professor

Computer Science and IT

Dr. Pawanesh Abrol is Professor at the Department of Computer Science and IT, University of Jammu, Jammu.

Dr. Abrol has more than twenty years of teaching and research experience at post graduate level. Besides, PhD in Computer Science, he also holds the degree of MBA (HRM). He served at Royal University Bhutan, Bhutan for two years under TCS of Colombo Plan, Govt of India. He has received INSA visiting Fellowship in 2007 to visit IIT Kanpur for research. Dr. Abrol has more than fifty research publications in various reputed national and international proceedings and journals. His research interests include aura based texture analysis, image forgery & authentication and eye gaze technologies. He has produced Six PhD scholars and currently five scholars are working with him. Presently, Dr. Abrol is Editor-in-Chief of peer reviewed refereed International Journal of Scientific and Technical Advancements (IJSTA). He has been the member of various committees and academic bodies.

Dr. Abrol also served as Head, Department of Computer Science & IT (2021 - 2024), Head, Department of Remote Sensing & GIS (2017-2018) and Director, Reasi Campus, at Reasi  (2018-2021), University of Jammu.    

Dr. Pawanesh Abrol is Fellow of Institution of Engineers (IE), Kolkatta and Institution of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) New Delhi. Dr. Abrol contributed as Chairman of IETE Jammu Sub Centre (2020-2022) and Hon Secretary, IETE Jammu sub Centre (2010-2014 and  2018-2020). Presently, he is the Vice President of Vigyan Parishad, J&K.
