Prof. Avtar Singh Jasrotia, Professor
Geology

Prof. Avtar Singh Jasrotia has established the Geospatial technology in the Department of Geology, University of Jammu. He has carried out his research in field of Remote Sensing and GIS application in Geosciences: Water Resources, Climate Change & Hydrology, Cryosphere, Desertification Vulnerability. More than 30 years of research his experiences, he has published more than 40 research articles in national/international journals. He has reviewed many top edited journals in the Elsevier and Springer publications. He has carried out various research projects: out of that Six have been completed and three ongoing projects are  funded & collaborate with Space Application Centre (ISRO) Ahmedabad, Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), Dehradun, National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC) Hyderabad, ISRO, Dept. of Space, Govt. of India, NRDMS (DST) Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, New Delhi and Department of Land Resources, Govt. of Indian/Rural Development Department, Civil Secretariat, Jammu.
