Dr. Sarika Manhas has a teaching and research experience of 21 years in the field of Human Development. She is currently nominated as Coordinator, Disability Initiatives of University of Jammu, and also is nominated as University SWAYAM Coordinator. She is Co-chairperson of Campus Cultural Committee from 2023 onwards. Recently, she has been nominated as Nodal officer for Internship program with Airport Authority of India (AAI).

Most of her academic and empirical work is focused on Disabilities. With a sound base of human development her endevour is to create an inclusive and accessible ecosystem for persons with disabilities both within as well as outside the University of Jammu. She was awarded Young Scientist Award by DST in 2012 for her work on Learning Disabilities. She was the only resource person invited from the UT to the National Congress on Developing a model Curriculum on Disability Studies for Higher education in Indian Universities held at New Delhi in 2018. In 2023 she organized Disability Dialogue in VYOM- first fest for PwDs in J&K. She was felicitated by the office of Mission Director, Women Empowerment, Social Welfare Department of J&K UT in 2022 for her contributions. 

Dr. Sarika Manhas has been associated with many other activities of the University of Jammu.  She is also nodal officer for implementation of Learning Management System in the University, member of the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan- Jammu University Chapter, Co-Editor Researcher Journal of the University, and member of many other committees.

She also has been member of many National level Committees as well, such as Chairperson for Developing position paper under State Curriculum Framework (SCF) for Art Education by NCERT in 2022; Member of State Monitoring Committee for implementation of ICDS in J&K, Ministry of Women and Child Development; Member of the Academic Council of ARPIT- Online Refresher Course in Home Science sanctioned by UGC to the University of Jammu for the year 2019-21; and is also on the Advisory Panel of National Federation of Blind, New Delhi.
