Kajal Kalsi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology, University of Jammu (Jammu & Kashmir), India. She has pursued her doctorate in Sociology from Centre for the Study of Social Systems, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. She completed her MPhil in Sociology from JNU and bachelors in Political Science (H) from Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi. Her areas of interest are Sociology of Forced Migration, Caste studies, Gender, Borderland studies and Political Sociology.
